Zika Virus: State and National Information for Providers

Zika is a mosquito-borne virus that is currently causing outbreaks in many countries. Zika virus can be passed from a pregnant woman to her fetus, and infection during pregnancy can cause microcephaly and other birth defects.

Each year, hundreds of precipitous deliveries occur in emergency rooms, hallways of clinics, homes and cars. Is your clinic prepared? In March 2016, Orange County Health Department took important steps towards preparing their staff for precipitous delivery.
