Preconception health is a national priority that can change women’s lives and improve infant health. North Carolina has been a leader in preconception health and continues to drive innovation nationwide. However, achieving our vision will require efforts that span professions, geography, spheres of influence, policies and individuals. Preconception health messages and health care strategies must be structured to reach a diverse audience of women at multiple points in time through many avenues. The North Carolina Strategic Plan examines how energy and resources can best be invested to improve the health of North Carolina’s women and children and offers new strategies to achieve this vision.
The Center for Maternal and Infant Health has been part of the NC Preconception Health Council for over 15 years. We value this partnership and continue to support the work. For more information about events and activities in North Carolina on preconception health visit www.everywomannc.com.
