At the heart of our work are the pregnant women, babies and families we serve. The Center focuses on helping patients with high-risk pregnancies and families with medically fragile infants to navigate a complex health care system, working with them to make sure they are receiving the best care available.

This includes making sure they a) understand their diagnosis, b) have the information they need to make important decisions, c) have access to specialists who put best practice in play every day, d) are connected to resources that will provide them with the support they need, and e) are equipped to work with a health care team to maximize the health outcome for themselves and their babies.

The Center for Maternal and Infant Health works with a large group of specialists who are experts in caring for mothers and infants. The UNC Departments of Pediatrics, OB/GYN and Surgery have 35 physicians who earned a place on the list of The Best Doctors in America.

The Center serves patients from across North Carolina. We care for patients who speak different languages, come from different backgrounds and have different experiences. Each of our families is unique. Our goal is to provide each family with care and services tailored to meet their special needs.
